About the Scholarship
The King’s Foundation Oxford DPhil Scholarships support cutting-edge doctoral research at the crossroads of nature, health, and community wellbeing. Hosted by the University of Oxford, these scholarships are offered in collaboration with the King’s Foundation, the Global Centre on Healthcare & Urbanisation (GCHU) at Kellogg College, and the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM).
Scholars will enroll in a DPhil in Primary Care Health Sciences, undertaking multidisciplinary projects that integrate environmental, social, economic, and public health perspectives.
Funding & Benefits
- Tuition: Full support for the UK Home-rate fees for the duration of the studentship.
- Stipend: A generous annual stipend of at least £20,000, which exceeds the standard UKRI doctoral rate.

Supervisory Structure & Training
- Each PhD scholar will be supervised by at least two academic supervisors.
- An academic advisor from The King’s Foundation will also guide doctoral progress.
- Supervisory expertise spans across The King’s Foundation, GCHU, and CEBM, ensuring robust and multidisciplinary mentoring.
- Applicants are encouraged, though not required, to engage with potential supervisors early but there’s no obligation to name them in the application.
